We all shop for groceries, sometimes two or three times a week –- or more. Now turn those shopping trip into easy cash for your school, and encourage friends to do the same! Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products like Cheerios®, Hamburger Helper® and Kleenex®.. All you need to do is clip and send them to your school’s with your child —- each one is worth 10¢ for your school.

FRIENDS OF BES NEWS
Thank you to everyone who was able
to make it to our meeting on Tuesday. We
have some fun activities coming up!
Next week (May 7-11) is TEACHER
APPRECIATION WEEK! This is our
opportunity to spoil our teachers and let
them know just how much we appreciate
them! This is what we have planned:
Monday, May 7th – Breakfast. Please
consider bringing our teachers something
delicious for breakfast! Anything goes
and I am sure that they will enjoy it all
day! Tuesday, May 8th – Cards – We
would love for our students to spend a
few minutes making a card for their
teacher- we will also be sure that every
student signs a card at school.
Wednesday, May 9th – Gift from The
Friends of BES! Thursday, May 10th –
LUNCH! The Friends of BES will
provide Hillside Pizza. Yummy! Friday,
May 11th – Dessert Day. We have a cake
(Thanks Maureen Shaw) and we hope
that you will whip up a batch of your
favorite cookies to share.
We hope that you will want to chip in
to help! We have also arranged for
parents to cover all recess and lunch
duties for the entire week!
We could always use more hands, so if
you are available any day next week
anytime between 11:00 and 1:10 please
call Jen Glazier at 648-9312, visit our
facebook page or send a note to school.
Thank you in advance for your help in
making this week a huge success!
Next week is also the start of round
two of MCAS testing. Math and Science!
The Friends of BES are requesting
donations of snacks for the students who
will be testing. We could use Apple Juicy
Juice juice boxes, Smart Food popcorn,
Ritz crackers, Cheddar Cheese blocks,
Wheat Thins, and apples. Are you
willing and able to help? PLEASE let us
know right away! Items can be sent into
school anytime next week since testing
will be happening for 2 weeks. THANK
YOU!

another huge success. Profits exceeded

The Bernardston 250th Committee is
busy planning many upcoming
events. The next town event will take
place on Monday, May 28th (Memorial
Day). Every student at BES (and their
families) is invited to march in the
Memorial Day Parade with the 250th
Committee. Our theme is “then and now”
and we would LOVE to see some
students dressed in costumes reminiscent
of the days when our little town was
settled! The parade kicks off at 10:00
please meet at the Four Leaf Clover by
9:45. Look for the 250th banner!
We want 100 likes on facebook!
Please go to our page (Friends of BES)

touch!
Thank you for all that you do to make
BES such an amazing place to grow and
learn. Our next meeting will be Tuesday,
June 5th at 6:00 in the library. Everyone is
welcome. We hope to see you there.
